What is now Adams Eaddy & Associates first opened on January 1, 1980, in a tiny two-room office in the Shandon neighborhood of Columbia, South Carolina, with founding shareholders Hal Adams, Karen Burns, and Bill Eaddy. The three-person firm was then known as Adams Burns and Eaddy. The firm has grown, acquired smaller firms, added clients, and moved several times, but has always remained within a few block of their original office in Shandon.
The firm focuses on serving businesses in Columbia and throughout the Southeast. While we offer a range of commercial and business insurance policies, we’re best known for construction insurance, commercial property insurance, employee benefits, and bond insurance. Since 2000, we’ve added an emphasis in the Life Insurance and Employee Benefits Department. We’ve thus allocated resources for life, disability, long-term care, health insurance, and retirement planning needs of our business and individual clients.
Through incredible growth and the support of companies throughout the Southeast, Adams Eaddy & Associates now employs more than 25 team members. New technology allows us to grow bigger and more efficient, yet old-fashioned courtesy helps us maintain the same neighborhood feel we have always had. We look forward in the years ahead to continue our commitment to reliable insurance products, insurance advice, and our service to the business community of the Southeast.
In 2006, the agency became a member of the Correll Insurance Group, the largest non-bank-owned independent agency in South Carolina, offering a range of competitive insurance products, for business owners or homeowners.
